HIST 497: Social History of Renaissance Europe, 1300-1700

Hist 497 SocialHistRenaissance flyerThis course is structured around an examination of the lifecycle in early modern Europe, beginning with birth and childhood, and continuing on to old age and death.  The class will look at a variety of social issues including sexuality, criminality, wealth, gender and social status. The course assignments will focus on primary sources as either objects of direct study or as ways to understand issues of social importance.
